The 1804 date on any coin is fairly elusive, and the 1804 dime is no exception. Add to that conditional rarity and the rare JR-2 die pairing, and VCD presents to you this lovely original AU53 specimen from the James Stack collection. Tied for a pop of 2 in AU53 and only two finer at PCGS, this coin is sure to be one of the nicest 1804 dimes in existence. Cream-gold mint luster graces the center of both obverse and reverse, with blue and green seafoam toning encircle the stars and letters. There are a few Mint file marks, but this is to be expected from an era where each planchet was weighed for its correct amount of silver.
