This lot presents a gorgeous 1807 half dollar in PCGS Gem Mint State 65 from the San Diego Collection. The San Diego Collection featured many nice coins, but this was among the best in the cataloger’s opinion. Stunning red, gold, and russet toning encompasses the obverse in a glowing splash of color, while the reverse is slightly more subdued. All in all, very pleasing to the eye with no distracting bag marks. Well struck. The Overton variety is O-112, Large Stars, 50/20. For the O-112, PCGS reports a pop of 3 coins in MS65 and none finer.
