Few collectors can check the 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar off their bucket lists, and far fewer still can make the claim to fame that they owned a Mint State example. The present coin is a gorgeous PCGS Mint State 61 with gunmetal grey surfaces and splashes of original patina. For a MS61, there are remarkably few hits – the only hit of note is a small mark across the eagle’s breast. 1795 dollars are typically seen with a weak strike on the eagle and this is no exception. PCGS reports a tie for 2 coins in MS61 and 22 finer at the time of cataloging.
